Detective Sergeant Paolo Rossi is reeling from personal tragedy and things get worse when his job leads to a confrontation with arch criminal Raven. This is the first of a trilogy and you’ll be eager for the next instalment”

The Scots Magazine, March 2020

Raven – Sicilian Defence

Raven – Sicilian Defence is the second book in The Raven Trilogy, featuring DI Rossi.

DI Rossi returns to his native Scotland but his troubles follow him and his family, in a series of twists that bring him closer and closer to the Raven.

Halek Dogû is a psychopathic gangster, with a murderous past. He works for the Raven and becomes fixated on tracking down DI Rossi’s team who, during the previous winter, had foiled a plot to assassinate a prominent international
politician. However, even when his boss calls him off, he remains hell-bent on wreaking vengeance and the whole team find themselves, and their loved ones, the target of a increasingly unbalanced killer.

In a comfortable area of Glasgow, Rossi’s family become embroiled in an attempt to stave off out-and-out gang warfare. Seeking to track down
people-smugglers, the investigation brings Rossi back up to Scotland, where the action focuses on the beautiful Scottish Highlands. As he discovers,
beauty can often be dangerous and somewhere along the path, these two strands will become entwined.

Raven – Sicilian Defence is available in paperback form from Amazon priced £7.99 and in e-reader form from Kindle priced £3.99. It is also available directly from Ebay priced £7.99 (+ £3.50 p&p).

Raven – Kriegspiel

Raven – Kriegspiel is the third book in The Raven Trilogy, featuring Sheldon White, the international master-criminal sometimes known as The Raven.

As the world’s governments begin a race to reel him in, DI Rossi and his colleague DCI Freemantle head up the UK’s struggle to get to White before a team from the US, intent on an extraordinary rendition, extract him from his Scottish hideaway.

Against a backdrop of gang warfare on the streets of Glasgow and the increasing involvement of the Russian mafiya, will they be in time?

Raven – Kriegspiel is available in paperback form from Amazon priced £7.99 and in e-reader form from Kindle priced £3.99.

Fabergé’s Angel

Fabergé’s Angel is the fourth book in the DI Paolo Rossi crime series.

The elusive nature of Paolo Rossi’s new case would suggest that diamonds are
a girl’s best friend – or are they? What links the assassination of a Russian oligarch in the Scottish Highlands and a dead girl found in the toilets at the motorway services in southern England, to an explosion in Aberdeen and the
grooming of a young girl in Ukraine?

It’s up to DI Paolo Rossi to find out, but he soon discovers that the security services have an interest in this case too. Now working with the National Crime Agency, Rossi also has to work with Police Scotland and MI5 in an uneasy
relationship that draws him ever further away from his wife, Claire, and their new home in Milngarvie, at a time when family pressures require Rossi to make a choice.

Fabergé’s Angel is available in paperback form from Amazon priced £7.99 and as a Kindle edition priced £3.99.

The Devil’s Finest Trick

The Devil’s Finest Trick is the fifth book in the DI Paolo Rossi crime series.

What does the discovery of a body and a cache of money in a tiny Highland harbour have in common with a previous case for DI Paolo Rossi, newly promoted and on secondment with the National Crime Agency?

What has organised crime to do with such a remote setting and is the money that has been found just the tip of an OCG iceberg of people smuggling – with a difference?

These are questions for DI Rossi and his colleagues to unravel in a process that puts their lives, and those of people they love, at risk in this fast-moving account of corruption and interference at the highest level.

The Devil’s Finest Trick is available in paperback form from Amazon priced £7.99 and as a Kindle edition priced £3.99.

Ross Tiffin

Ross Tiffin is an author, feature writer and columnist. He was born in Bromley, Kent but has never fully recovered from the disappointment of not being born in Scotland, despite a Scottish heritage that takes him back through generations of crofters and fishermen on the Black Isle.

Now, at last, living on the Black Isle in Ross-shire, he can look back on a life of working in jobs as varied as washing greasy pie trays in a London pie factory through to managing a northern European division of a successful multi-national company and acting as an advisor to a veterinary charity. He now writes regularly for a veterinary journal, for a leading pet food company, an IT provider and for Dogs for Good, a charity for which he has been a trustee for many years.

Now, almost retired, he tries to juggle writing with walking the family’s dogs on a beautiful beach along the Moray Firth, watching out for dolphins and dreaming of a better golf swing.

The thing about life, is that you never know what is waiting for you around the corner and Ross tries to build that unexpectedness of real life into the activities of the characters in his books against a recognisable backdrop of familiar places.
